What are you most excited about for the future?

Nothing. I am 80 years old, and thus—as they say in chess—well into the endgame.

  1. Let’s not forget that, these days, whilst it’s not common to live past 100 it is no longer remarkable. So you should be planning a fairly long endgame. Winning that game might be asking for too much, but one should play it with style, like an old master, no longer with the flashy style of a young hopeful, but with the grace and patience of an experienced campaigner.
    That’s what I’m trying to tell myself, anyway ….
